Hi, I'm new to Sierra having used eSignal for years. I have just completed a 2 week trial provided by my broker, I am particularly interested in trading directly from a chart, without a DOM or Chart Trade Window.
I am concerned at the possibility of making an order error even with a separator added. Would it be possible to add customizable colours for the text and background, and make this background permanent rather than popping up as you hover your mouse?
Thanks

You probably will want to enable Order confirmations. Refer to:

It is not supported to change the color of the text or background for menu items if that is what you are referring to.

You may also be interested in the Chart DOM:

Hi, I am an experienced trader switching brokers to one offering Sierra. I do not want Order Confirmations or a Chart DOM, I wish to place trades directly from a chart and I feel compared to other chart trade offerings there is more potential to make an error with Sierra. So my question now is could you consider making the chart trade menu options configurable in a future version of Sierra?

Thanks.

If you're referring to configuring the text and background color of menu items, we do not see how that is technically possible. So no, that will not come in a future version.

Through Global Settings >> Customize Chart Trade Menu, you can configure which commands are displayed and the order of those items.

Thanks, yes I'd found that in your excellent documentation!

One other question then when you hover your mouse over a potential chart order the background turns blue, could this be changed so that perhaps buy orders had a green background, sell orders a red background and other commands such as cancel all and flatten and cancel could remain blue?
Thanks

Not quite certain what you are referring to. Maybe you could post an image showing this. Here are the instructions:

Hovering over any order or command, does not cause it to change color.

Image attached. I had brought up the chart trade menu by right clicking on the chart. At the time of screenshot mouse is hovering over Buy Market and you will see the background has turned blue, other backgrounds remain grey. My question is would it be possible to make that background colour user programmable or at least Green for Buys and Red for Sells.
Thanks

This is controlled by the Windows operating system. However, we will add a task to add color codes by the menu commands which match the coloring used for the trade commands on the Trade Window.
