Attached Orders Not Sent/Visible for Recent Trade Entry

I’m reaching out regarding an issue I faced with a recent trade. The entry order went through correctly, and “Use Attached Orders” was enabled in the chartbook. However, the associated target and stop orders did not pass through. I’m also not seeing them in the Trade Orders window or in the logs.

Could you help me understand what might have caused the attached orders (target/stop) to not be sent or recorded? Any guidance on what to check or how to prevent this in future would be appreciated.

If they were rejected, you should see that in the Trade Activity Log. Be sure to set the "Activity Type" to "Orders" or "All Activity" to see the orders and see if you see the rejection.

Also, check the "Trade >> Trade Service Log" as that should show any rejections. Keep in mind that this log is not persistent, so if you have exited from Sierra Chart and restarted, the older information will not be there, so you may need to try another trade and if the attached orders are not present, then see what is in the log.

I checked both the Trade Activity Log (set to “Orders” and “All Activity”) and the Trade Service Log. I’m not seeing any rejection messages for the attached orders—only the entry order appears.

What’s puzzling is that a subsequent entry on the same chartbook did generate the attached target and stop orders correctly, and no settings were changed in between. This makes it difficult to understand why the earlier attached orders did not pass through or show up in any logs.

Could you advise on what else might cause this behavior?

The only reason would be a rejection from the trading service or exchange. If there is no information, then this would mean that the trading service you are using is not giving any information back as to the reason for the rejection.

The most common item that causes a rejection like this is the "Time in Force". For the Attached Orders, refer to the following:
Attached Orders: Time In Force

But we really do not know what it is.
