Hello, I'm overlaying prior day VbP study onto my current day trading session, and I am implementing this for lets say 50 days. On my current day, yesterday's profile should display as completely formed with levels (and the current day's profile and levels displayed as much in the future, bar count wise, if need be). But instead, I'm seeing prior day's profile and levels as being "built" as current day progresses on my current day prices which beats the purpose and causes more confusion - are there any settings that will allow me to sort this out? I could use Volume Value Area Lines study to overlay prior day study, but the structure of the prior day's volume profile is of importance to me apart from the levels, so this option doesn't suit me. |

You state that you are "overlaying prior day VbP study...", but you can not use the Study/Price Overlay for a Volume Profile. Therefore, we have to assume that you are using a second VbP study to get the prior day's information. In this case, how are you setting up that second VbP? How are you displaying it so that you can see it separate from the current VbP? Hi John, Thank you for your reply, and apologies for the confusion. By overlay, I mean to say I'm using the VbP study and setting "Number of periods back to reference" to "1". With this, the intent is to have a static prior day profile ready to use "in the current day's screen space" while current day prices populate. I do not need current day profile. |

What you want should be what you are getting. There must be something in the setup that you have not set properly. Please get us that chart so we can take a look. We are not seeing any issue with your chart. What we see is exactly what you are stating you should be seeing - the current Volume by Price profile is displaying the previous day's data and is not updating with the current bars. Attached is an image of what we see. Is this occurring when running a replay or some other specific thing occurring, or even during regular chart updates? Hi John, The current day is displaying previous day's volume profile data; that is not the point of contention. The issue is about how the data is being shown. I have attached an image with highlights and notes called "John_image_Highlight.png" - comparing a finished day's display of prior day profile versus an ongoing session's display of prior day profile. Effectively, I am seeking a static displacement of fully formed prior day profile that is not dependent on current day's time to display its structure. |

So this is about the Width of the profile itself, not the data within it? In this case, this is how it is. The current day only exists in the bars up to that point. So displaying the previous day's profile in the current day is only going to show it in the size of the bars that exist at that time.
