Hello Sierra Chart Team,

I’m trying to plot weekly high and low levels for Gold futures (GC), where the futures week starts Sunday 18:00 ET (Globex open) and ends Friday 17:00 ET.

I’m using the “High/Low for Time Period – Extended” study (and also tested Daily OHLC), but I noticed a problem:

For the current week, the high and low include Sunday correctly.

For historical weeks, the study seems to ignore Sunday and only plots Monday–Friday.

I understand this might be related to session alignment or how the study calculates historical bars, but I need a solution that:

Correctly includes Sunday 18:00 for all past weeks.
Works with both historical data and live updates.
Can be applied to intraday charts or overlaid on them.

I’ve tried adjusting Start/End Time, Number of Days, and session settings, but the problem persists for historical weeks.

Could you advise on the correct setup or recommend a study/method to reliably plot Sunday-inclusive weekly high/low levels, both historically and live?

Thanks in advance!

The Daily Historical data is data from the exchanges as they specify it. We have no control over what they send us for this information. You will notice that for the CME Group there are no Sunday bars. The trading from Sunday is considered part of the Monday trading day. Refer to the following:
Historical Chart Prices

If you want to have an exact match between weekly and intraday data, then you need to create the weekly data from the intraday data by setting the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Chart Data Type" to "Intraday Chart Only". Then whatever bar period you choose will be using the Intraday data. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Chart Data Type (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Chart Data Type Settings menu)
