[User Discussion] - How to transfer chartbook between PCs while preserving drawings after futures rollover?

Hello - I have a chartbook on laptop A that has historical charts (daily, Weekly, Monthly) of NQ. Last week, I updated trendlines etc on those charts after latest NQ futures rollover. This week I transferred the chartbook to laptop B by copying the chartbook into the Data folder of Sierra chart on laptop B. When I opened the chartbook on laptop B, the trendlines are not updated anymore.
I have checked the documentation on transferring files between computers. I would like to avoid having to manually readjust all the drawings. Are there any additional files I need to move over from laptop A?
Thanks

Are the trendlines still visible in that Chartbook in the destination installation of Sierra Chart?

Make sure you save the Chartbook, in the source installation before copying the Chartbook file.

Yes, they are visible in the destination installation. It's just as if I never fixed them in the first place after the futures rollover - shifted and such as happens after a rollover.
Yes, I saved the chartbook in source installation, closed Sierra Chart and then moved the chartbook over.

thanks

What you are describing is an impossibility. Did the symbol of the chart change?

The trendlines must be in the identical position. Check the actual values. They must not have changed. Maybe the historical price data has changed instead.

Did the symbol of the chart change?
As I mentioned in my original post, I am transferring the chartbook after rolling over NQ futures symbol, and adjusting trendlines etc to fit the rolled over chart.

In my first attempt, I only copied the charbook to the destination laptop, and when I opened the chartbook, the trendlines were misligned ( as if they were not adjusted).
In my 2nd attempt, I copied the chartbook and NQ-202512-CME.dly file, and then opened the chartbook, and same issue.
In my 3rd attempt, I copied the chartbook, and NQ-202509-CME.dly and NQ-202512-CME.dly, and then opened the chartbook, and this time, I could see the trendlines correctly aligned like I had adjusted them on the source laptop.

You should not have had to copy any data files (i.e. .dly files). These should have been automatically downloaded as needed. It sounds like there may have been a problem related to downloading the daily files.

Is this chart a Continuous Futures Contract chart?

Yes.

I could tell after opening the transferred chartbook in all the attempts, that it was downloading some data. Its just that when the chartbook refreshed, they did not have the trendlines adjusted correctly until the 3rd attempt.

Next time something like this occurs, select "Edit >> Delete All Data And Download" and select all the symbols in the list box that comes up. Then select the option at the bottom for "Download for Daily Data Files Only". This will download the necessary daily data to ensure that the back-adjustment is done properly.
