I am trying to go to Analysis > New / Open Custom Study File , but the notepad++.exe wont come up, when I check the message log i see the error "Error creating the A...C...S...I...L editor process " Error creating the process C:\Sierrachart\NPP\notepad++.exe Windows error code 2: the system cannot find the file specified" I believe I know why , and its because the file is actually not in the C: drive anymore. My PC unexpectedly crashed, while trying to fix it myself, I made the problem much worse, I took it to some tech repair shop and he said the only solution was downloading windows on another drive. when he downloaded windows on the new drive. everything got renamed, the drive that previously had SC files was now the D: Drive, and the the drive with the windows operating system was the new C: Drive. Here is the path of the notepad++ : "D:\SierraChart\NPP\notepad++.exe" When I go to Global Settings > General Settings it appears everything is pointing at the right updated directory (D:Drive), yet when I go open it the message log says it can't find it in the C: Drive, according to the settings shouldn't it be looking in the D drive ? why is it looking in the C: drive ? What would the best/simplest solution be in this case, I want to make sure I don't lose any templates/settings. |
