Hi I am completely new to Sierra charts. I have been trading for about a year but have never used volume in any way before to make trading decisions.

I am trading the bund market on a 5 minute timeframe and wish to use volume in a big way to back up my trade ideas which are based on S/R levels and fibs.

I am trading using DOM ladder but my numbers bars which is set to show Bid vol x Ask vol does not appear to be showing the correct data as the amount of contracts trading on the ladder is hug3e in comparison to the volume shown in the numbers bars. Any advice on how to set the numbers bars or somewhere I can go to learn to use them properly to su[pport my trade ideas would be very much appreciated as at the moment they are pointless to me as I have no idea what to make iof them.

Thanks guys look forward to some help :)

There is a difference between bid and ask traded volume which Numbers Bars use and the bid and ask sizes that you normally see as part of the market depth on a trading DOM.

So what is actually being displayed on my numbers bars?

They are set to show :

Bid Vol x Ask Vol
Full Background
Coloured by the dominant side

So does 1/2 mean there was 1000 bid contracts and 2000 ask contracts traded at that price? or just 1 and 2. Where do the volume numbers displayed in the numbers bars actually derive from??

Bid Volume and Ask Volume are explained here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_NumbersBars.php#Definitions

The numbers you see in Numbers Bars are actual.

Would it be possible to send me exact instructions of how to create an exact replica of a market delta footprint chart using numbers bars as there is so much information on YouTube of how to integrate them into my trading so I would find it easier to get to grips with?

It must be possible as the reviewer on this site has created screenshots showing them :

Please bare in mind I am a complete novice so the more detailed your reply of how to create the charts the better.

Being a Market Delta footprint chart can vary widely , we would need to see an image of it to give you some guidance.

I think if you could give me a detailed guide of how to achieve that I could probably begin to know how to tweak where I need to to get exactly what I want once I've spent some time watching footprint instructional videos on YouTube etc.

Here is a Chartbook, set very similar to the image you have attached. The Chartbook is attached.

The color settings are left at the default settings. This Chartbook needs to be used with the "SC Historical Data" service. You need to set the service through Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service.

The file needs to be saved the Sierra Chart Data Files Folder and opened through File >> Open Chartbook.
