This is governed by CME rule on Stop Logic and Protection Points. See http://www.cmegroup.com/globex/introduction/features-and-functionality/elements/trading-sessions.html It has nothing to do with SC. Basically all stop market orders that are submitted via Globex will be converted to stop limit orders. This is their way to ensure that you get filled. For 6E, the "protection points" is 20 ticks
