Let me start by saying I have been using Price retracement drawing tools for years on a variety of charting platforms so no, it's not a case of this being normal. I anchor the price retracement from a swing high, to swing low. When I move on to a different symbol and then return back to my initial symbol, the price retracement is nowhere near where it had been placed. In fact, in some cases it simply sits in the middle of the chart. The odd part is that I can change symbols and time frames several times i.e. over the course of a few minutes, and the price retrament will hold. All of a sudden, I'll go back to the same chart and it has changed positions and sits in space.
