I'm not sure what the mistake might be, but this problem was not evident in earlier (e.g. sub 1000) versions. If you look at the supplied image, you can see the second anchor point (right in the middle of the image). The slope of the line deviates quite significantly from what was drawn with the tool. So yes, maybe compare with the code for Parallel Rays, which still works as expected.
