The "thin" letters is due to having "Letter Font Size" set to "0" for automatic. We would recommend setting this to something like "10" and then adjusting from there. The spacing between the columns is partially due to the font size, but also due to the bar spacing in the chart. After getting the font how you want it, then adjust the bar spacing to get things how you want.
