The particular situation we referenced - a "client-side" order has nothing to do with the exchange. In this case, a person would have their software setup to only submit that order from their computer. It would not be a limit order waiting on the exchange. Although the CME Group did have a way to show a different value for a limit order on the exchange at one point. We had put in the ability to specify this, but somewhere over the last 6 months this changed. I do not know if this was a change with the CME Group, or something we decided. You would have to check with the exchange on this. And, there is also the possibility for someone to enter multiple orders with various quantities that all add up to the actual quantity they want.
