That is true, but it was intentional in this case. For anyone else finding this thread in the future, the context of my setup is as follows (all MNQ): Chartbook1: Chart1 - 10,000 Volume Chart (Main trading chart) - Non-continuous futures contract (front contract only) Chartbook2: Chart1 - 100,000 Volume Chart - Continuous futures contract (volume-based rollover) Chart2 - Daily Chart - Continuous futures contract (volume-based rollover) Drawings are duplicated from both charts in Chartbook2 to Chartbook1:Chart1. Drawings are also duplicated from Chartbook2:Chart2 to Chartbook2:Chart1. Having multiple chartbooks allows me to maximize screen real estate for my main trading window while still having an easily accessible reference chartbook ready for higher time-frame comparisons. The charts in Chartbook2 are on continuous contracts for visual continuity across contracts while my main trading chart is zoomed in enough that's usually a non-issue (outside of the initial days of the rollover). Interestingly to your point, John, the two charts in Chartbook2 did not roll over simultaneously despite matching 'volume-based rollover' designations. I'm assuming this is likely just due to the differences between Daily volume tracking and Volume volume tracking. I just hadn't noticed this behavior before and wanted to make sure it wasn't a quirk of my relatively recent switch off of Windows onto Arch. |
