Is there any way to switch between different Current Services and Intraday Data Storage Time Units without deleting all of the existing data?
For example, when I switch back to a previous setting, can Sierra Chart keep the data that has already been downloaded and only download the missing data? Switching services is not an issue. You do have to download data for each service, as the data for each service is stored differently, as they all supply the data in different formats, and they use different symbols. For instance, if you are connected to "SC Data", then the symbol for the 2026 September ES Contract is "ESU26-CME". If you are connected to Rithmic, then the symbol is "ESU6.CME". If you have data through to the current day for ESU26-CME, but not for ESU6.CME, then when you change to Rithmic, the system will need to download the missing data for the ESU6.CME symbol. You do not NEED to redownload the data when you change the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit. But if you do not, then the data is stored in whatever unit you had set at that time. So if you change from 1 tick to 1 minute for the month of July, then the data will all be in 1 tick, except for the data in July, which will be 1 minute. If you need 1 tick data, then you do need to redownload all the data to ensure that you have 1 tick for all the data. Is it possible to have some charts use **1-Tick data** and other charts use **1-Second data** at the same time?
Not within the same installation of Sierra Chart. The data for a symbol is all stored within a single file, so all charts get the exact same data. To do what you want, you would need to have two different installations of Sierra Chart and have one set to 1 tick and the other to 1 second for the data storage. Then you can have the charts setup the way you want. As long as the second installation is on the same computer, there are no additional fees for setting this up.
