This is not easily reproducible for us. Can you create a new chart, add a drawing, and then copy that drawing? Another thing to try is to use the Tools >> Manage Chart Drawings Window before and after attempting to copy the drawing. Using the Manage Chart Drawings Window you should be able to see if the drawing was added, but perhaps has values that place it off the current display, or perhaps it was added with different symbol.
