Based on user reports and based on our logging, we are seeing delays with real-time data delivery from some of our server processes but not all, at times. Yesterday, it occurred, at different times in the day. We see a data delay, up to 100 seconds, close to 6 AM Eastern time this morning. We saw no other delays today. So that is good. Also, our logging, shows delays, but from the user perspective, this would actually mean in some cases stopped data. Probably stopped data based on what we are hearing. This is why the delay gets so high because, the data cannot be sent out because there is insufficient bandwidth. This is due to Internet connectivity issues, not our own internal systems. One thing that we are aware of, is there is a Verizon fiber cut, between Monroe Michigan and Toledo Ohio. This may be affecting Internet connectivity. We would think so. Actually at this time our 100 Gb wavelength between Chicago and Southfield Michigan has been out nearly 3 days due to this fiber cut. This circuit does not carry CME data. It is used primarily for US equities. We are relying on a backup circuit but that backup circuit is working just fine. It is more than a suitable backup. It has more than enough bandwidth for the traffic level. This Verizon fiber cut is by a railroad and the repair was initially delayed with railroad administrative procedures preventing Verizon access to the site. And now they are doing something they call Hydro excavation but running into problems with the water freezing, due to the very cold weather. We are not sure if this is the cause but we will do some reconfiguration over the weekend to use what clearly is a better circuit. Not all users are affected with the data delays. Since it appears only one circuit is affected. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
