There seems to be a lot of confusion on this over the years, so I will provide some context to clear things up. DAS Trader Pro does offer Direct Access to the markets through various routes, and they have done a great job at marketing (or through partnerships with many brokerage firms), to the point that a lot of retail traders believe their orders go straight to the market. This is far from the truth. If your Das Trader Pro instance is connected to IBKR for example, your orders still have to go through IBKR order servers. Same with Centerpoint. No brokerage will allow another firm send their customers orders straight to the market. It's a huge settlement and regulatory risk. The only group of people who can enjoy direct market access using Das Trader Pro are prop firm traders, in which the prop firm has made its own arrangements on how their orders should be handled. Effectively, Sierra Chart already provides what most of you want from Das Trader pro, and this explains why Sierra Engineering is confused about this ask. If you want Das Trader Pro Datafeed, simply subscribe to Consolidated stocks feed and Nasdaq TotalView on Sierra Chart. It's the same stuff at the $150 per month subscription tier. It's only an issue if you want additional Level 2 from NYSE and AMEX (which I am not sure Sierra Chart provides) If you want Das Trader Pro order routing, connect your Sierra Chart to IBKR, and use IBKR order routing. It is the same stuff in terms of where the orders are routed to. With this, you can ditch Das Trader, and save yourself at least ~$70 a month. |
