The setting send alert as chat message ON/OFF would I assume turn it off?! If it doesnt turn it off why does it need to be turned ON in the setup?

We just tested this to ensure it is working properly, and we do not see any issues with it. When "Send Alert as Chat Message When Alert is Triggered" is set to "No", then no messages are sent to the Chat as per the identifier in "Chat Identifier for Alert". Which then means that no information will to to the ntfy app, since nothing is getting to the chat to then forward on.

Having it set to "Yes", also works properly, where it is then forwarded the alert to the Chat.

Anyway, while looking at this again now I have noticed on the phone the messages include the term "delayed 60 seconds" or delayed 30 seconds etc. So when they hit my phone and I'm sat at SC and see there was no alert trigger at that time, they appear to be random and theyre random as the delay for each message is not only delayed but delayed for varying amounts of time.

Do we know why?

We do not know why you would see a delay in the receipt of the a notification to your ntfy app. As part of the testing above, we were getting notifications to our phone (just by chance, as it is still configured in my personal setup). We are not seeing any delays. It sounds like this may have something to do with the ntfy app, but we do not know what it would be.

You state that "...they appear to be random..." are you referring to random alerts? So are you still having alerts firing that you are not expecting? Do you know where these alerts are coming from?
