For those who have a lot of charts and stumble across this thread, I came across a game changing setting in Sierra Chart:

SUMMARY:
Enable “Destroy Hidden Windows”
  • Go to Global Settings → General Settings → GUI
  • Check Destroy Chart Windows When Hidden
This forces Sierra Chart to release GUI objects when a chartbook is minimized or switched away from

DETAIL:
I was struggling with Sierra Chart where everything seemed to take a long time. Then I noticed this in the log:
Windows error code 1816: Not enough quota is available to process this command.

I asked Copilot and it had me download Process Explorer for Windows and then add the USER Objects column to Process Explorer. Sierra Chart had 3000 to 4000 USER Objects.

Copilot alerted me to the existence of that "Destroy Chart Windows When Hidden" checkbox. After enabling it and restarting SC, USER Objects is down to 1000 and all my performance problems are solved.
