With regards to the Message Log and Trade Service Log being empty, this was due to a change in a recent release that has been fixed, but you need to go to the "Global Settings >> Message Categories" and set all the options you want to see in your logs to "Yes" (it is easiest to set them all to "Yes" for right now and make changes later). Then get us your "Trade Service Log" so we can see what information is in there with regards to the trading error.
