Once I purchase a PUT Option then I see the price of the option being shown on the chart [good] but I don't see anything reflected in the open position as trade -> orders.. is that just because I'm running this under sim1 account?
The "Orders" window shows both simulated and non-simulated orders. Keep in mind that if you do not have any attached orders, then the Market Order will show, but it will show as "Filled". And keep in mind that the "Orders" window is transient, so once an order is filled or removed, it will only stay in that window for a short time. Refer to the information at the following link: Trading Information Windows: Trade Orders Window To verify, at any point in time, and I want to execute the option then I simply buy or sell it as the need arises??
