Hello. I have searched far and wide for the answer to this question before opening a support request (I respect that you guys are very busy and appreciate your site very much). That being said, I can't find the answer to my problem anywhere on Sierra, YouTube, the internet in general or my great aunt Silvie, so I have to ask it here. When I have an attached stop order (not stop-limit, just regular ol' stop order, I am under the assumption that, once triggered, that order converts to a market order and I will be filled at the market price. The problem is that there is a price five points away from where my stop order is set and that price is next to my stop order price and displayed in parentheses like this: (6405.25) 6400.25 Every time one of my stops is triggered, it triggers at this significantly worse price that is in parentheses (5 points is a helluva lot and unsustainable). I am new to SC and I'm sure my technological slowness is at play here, but how do I prevent this and where is that number in parentheses even coming from in the first place. Is a stop-limit order necessary to prevent this (as that has been the only temporary solution that works that I have found)? Thank you for your help when you can get to it in advance and sorry for the Gettysburg Address length of this post that I had to write to properly explain this. I did spend 3 hours searching for the answer before asking for help. I know your guys' policy and looking for answers prior to asking, but couldn't find the answer. |
