As far as I can see, I only have one option if I can't connect to my broker: change the symbols of every chart in the chartbook by "translate symbols to current service" and choose the "SC Data" Data/Trade service.
This statement is correct, except that you need to change the service first and then change the symbols. And when you select OK to close the Data/Trade Service Settings Window you are prompted to update the symbols then, so you should answer "Yes", in which case you should not need to select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service". Just to be complete, when you are not able to connect to the defined trading service, the data also stops.
