The questions is/was: In the case where you have a DOM all configured the way you want it, which can take a very long time. And say the DOM you created was done to a DOM attached to a chart, and say you regret having this fully configured DOM attached to a chart and you want to detach this DOM. It appears that this can NOT be done. If you want a detached DOM you have to build it that way from the beginning.
