We understand what you are asking and the answer is that this is the way it works. Once a particular text is associated with a line, it is part of that line. So when you change the configuration, that text is going to stay. The only workaround for this would be to create a configuration that has a space for the Config Name and has the option for "Copy tool Config Name to Text" set to "Yes". This will then put a space for the text, which is going to be invisible.
