This is what the documentation says: The Chart Values tool displays the values for each graph in the chart at the chart column that you are pointing to. These values are displayed in the Window >> Tool Values Window. To use or activate the Chart Values tool, select Tools >> Chart Values/Crosshair on the menu. On the chart, click your pointer device left button once to activate the tool and display the chart values for the column that you are pointing to with your pointer device.
