There are settings for how the drawings are done relative to the other items on the screen (z-ordering). Refer to the following setting and the one after it: Chart Settings: Draw Highlight Drawings Underneath Main Graph and Studies (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu) As stated in the documentation, the "Highlight" drawings are the geometric shapes (rectangle, ellipse, etc.).
