Yes, you are on point. I always want to chart ES, but sometimes trade MES on the same chart so instead of going to chart settings and clearing the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol", I was thinking of adding a custom button to a control bar and toggle it from there. You guys have so many great shortcuts so I thought it might as well be there which I couldn't find, but I will look into the Advance custom study link you've posted. Thanks!
