Try the update again, and when it completes with the error, select the button at the top right that states "Send Log to Support". Then post in this thread letting us know that you sent us the log and we will take a look and see what the error is.

The Zip Installer should definitely not cause you to lose files. If this occurred, then that means that you unpacked the files into a different folder from the one where your Sierra Chart is installed. If you are going to use the Zip installer, you need to copy the files out of the Zip file and paste them into your main Sierra Chart installation folder. You will get prompted to overwrite files, to which you want to say "Yes" (you want to overwrite them).
