For the cash FTSE use this symbol: Z-IND-LIFFE-GBP (I tried it anyway, in File>Open>Intraday chart - using Z-201406-LIFFE-GBP-1000 and it came up Symbol is unknown) You will need to contact Interactive Brokers about this and determine what the problem is.
