Post From: Comparing multiple symbols on one chart

Just a note to folks that use google search (like me).
The new way to do this is to use the Add Additional Symbol study.
Add Additional Symbol

If you save the symbols you add as a study collection and use the + at the end, you will be able to have a one-click addition of your Symbols.

This is particularly useful when using Inner Circle Trader's Smart Money Technique because you can quickly apply the correlated markets to any time frame you are studying and follow his analysis rules.

Another technique that might be useful if you want to compare multiple symbols, but you want the charts to not be horizontal (causing the candles to be squashed flat), is to use three separate charts.
In that case, you can link the charts using Chart > Chart Settings > Linking.
When you link the scroll position, bar period, session times, and bar spacing and leave the other settings alone or set to no, you will end up with charts that scroll together and let you compare the OHLC better because the candles will be taller.

It would be interesting if perhaps we could have an option to have vertical regions on a single chart.
Currently SierraChart lets you put your studies into regions, but they are only using a 1-Dimensional grid vertically.
I sort of wonder if it wouldn't be a bad idea to offer an x and y coordinate for the studies.
This might allow for some more interesting chart and control panel placement because the user could create a custom grid and apply everything with a single click - which is the real advantage of the Study Collections. The only way I see currently to create a vertical "study collection" for comparing instruments is to use a chartbook.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks!
