Post From: Sun. - Mon. Daily bars for SC data

Some forex data providers have five bars in a week, and some have six. It is not correct to have a Sunday bar for any market. The reason is very simple: there are FIVE trading days, for every country, for every market, always. There are FIVE 24-hour periods of trading, taken from the US perspective:

Day 1: Sunday evening to Monday evening
Day 2: Monday evening to Tuesday evening
Day 3: Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening
Day 4: Wednesday evening to Thursday evening
Day 5: Thursday evening to Friday evening

So in a 168-hour week (7 days), forex markets are open for 120 hours (5 days). 5 bars, end of story. From the perspective of another country, there are still only 5 trading days, but the times they begin and end will be different (for example, if you live in Australia, the trading week ends on Saturday when the US closes, but it began on Monday, so there are still only 5 full days).

Why would a data provider have a Sunday bar that has at most 8 hours of trade, and then five other bars, with almost 24 hours of trade? SC is competent enough to provide the option to combine separate Sun-Mon bars in the case that the data provider is not competent enough to provide five daily bars in a week with five trading days.
