Thank you for your reply John ... after reviewing my tools settings, I was already enabled on both global cursor and synchronize charts. But I stumbled onto an interesting observation with the cursor. When switching charts in a chart book, as long as the cursor exits the lower right corner of the screen first, then moves left across the names of the other charts listed at the bottom of the screen and click on the required chart, then that new chart will open with the last price bar on the right hand side of the screen, as normal. However, if I'm busy entering text or whatever on one chart, and say I wanted to copy and paste that info to another chart and I drop straight down to the bottom center or bottom left in order to click on the other chart, then the new chart will open at that time/date where the cursor exited the previous chart ... and that time/date will then be at the extreme right hand side of the screen. So I just have to train myself to exit the cursor at the lower right corner when changing charts, and all is good. I assume this how it is supposed to work in these newer versions.
