There is a problem with the Symbol Settings. Maybe they were inadvertently changed.

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

Follow the step which explains to disable the Custom Symbol Settings Values. That may be where the problem is.
