Since Sierra Chart uses 8-bit text strings and uses the 8-bit (API functions that end with the A suffix as compared to W) operating system functions for the user interface, there has never been true proper support for Extended/Unicode/Wide characters.

We are gradually going through all the necessary changes to properly support Extended/Unicode/Wide characters so that any character set around the world can be used easily and reliably by any user. This is being accomplished by using the operating system W functions and by supporting UTF-8 encoding in the 8-bit character strings.

Ultimately, all areas of Sierra Chart will support this. The menus, Control bar buttons and all of the new settings windows. All of these can be translated to any language easily.

This is an ongoing process. During this process, you are going to notice that Extended/Unicode/Wide characters that previously worked, are no longer working or the character translation looks corrupted.

We do apologize for this. And our advice at this time is just go back to the prior version you were using if you are being affected by this ongoing development work. Instructions:
Software Download: Software Rollback Procedure

We are going to complete this work as soon soon as possible and hope to have it substantially done in about a month.
