Ok, for adding IB in a different, I did follow the instructions and it seems to be working But the chart data is different. The MES looks different in IB copy than the SC copy. I think there is something not right. I didn't do step 13 (You will need to modify the following symbol settings for a symbol that you want to access market data for from the Source instance.)
