I upgraded to Version 1991 and tried again. Yes, I was already redownloading the data after changing the Download Dividend Adjusted Historical Data setting. After trying with MSFT, the daily data is identical except for today's last price. In both cases it agrees with Yahoo dividend adjusted data. So I guess I can use the Daily data together with Intraday Historical Data to get the adjustments. However, this appears to be a bug: the Download Dividend Adjusted Historical Data setting is having no effect.
