This option does not remain enabled reliably even in the same session. Surely it is much safer to have this option saved if required than to disable it when the user doesn't expect it. I always have this option enabled but must remeber to do so or I get unexpected positions appearing. Having this option saved in the configuration would be very useful and for me, much safer.
