Post From: Triggered Limit Order - Error/Quirk

This is a very specific error (or quirk) that occurs with the Triggered Limit Entry Order. In the trade window I have set "Trig Limit Offset (Ticks)" to be -1. Meaning if I place a Buy Triggered Limit (Auto-Set) order in the the ES at 2986.25 then SierraChart will correctly place a buy limit order at 2986.00 the instant that 2986.25 is hit. The problem/error/quirk (whatever word one wishes to use) comes when trying to move the order to a different price before the trigger price is reached and, again, this problem/error/quirk is very specific. In the above example (where the offset value is -1 tick) the buy order (trigger price with -1 offset) can be adjusted upwards by any number of ticks and it can be adjusted downwards by 2 or more ticks. But it cannot be adjusted downwards by 1 tick. If you try to adjust it downwards by 1 tick, SierraChart won't allow it. The order will remain unchanged. The same thing happens on the sell side. You cannot adjust the order upwards by a tick when the offset value is -1. But you can adjust it upwards by 2 or more ticks. The end result requires the trader to move the order twice to get the desired outcome of adjusting it by one tick. Can this be fixed? |
