Thanks for the explanation. The Last (closing price) is required as it is really the only valid price point for this type of study for my purpose. Without dynamic real-time and historical automatic updates, this makes the study virtually useless since it requires continual manual updating, particularly as a critical trading tool, which is why I chose Sierra platform as other platforms don't have similar studies. Furthermore, for my purposes I believe that using calc Mode 2 with a 'number of bars required' value set to zero or 1 would achieve the same result as calc Mode 3, if this make it easier.
