What you should do is look at the Trade Activity Log:
Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity

Locate that market order and ensure the Order Type is actually Market. Initially the Status will be Order Sent and then within milliseconds it will go to Open. If it did, then it has been acknowledged by Interactive Brokers TWS.

So you then need to ask Interactive Brokers why it did not fill right away.
