The latest/current version of Sierra Chart can be run in either 64 or 32 bit modes. Refer to the Difference Between 32 and 64-bit Versions section here:
OK, thank you. I ran the installer again and got one icon on my desktop named "C:\SierraChart\SierraChart_64.exe" This is the only icon I got.

But following the directions in your link, I see:

Within the C:\SierraChart\ folder (default installation folder) you will have the following two executable files: SierraChart.exe and SierraChart_64.exe. There are shortcuts for these executables on your desktop. Running the SierraChart.exe file, will start the 32 bit version of Sierra Chart.

I do find a file named SierraChart.exe there but when I run it, I get a pop-up "C:\SierraChart\SierraChart.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

???

UPDATE:

I reran the installer and this time specified version 1790. This time it started up automatically and immediately connected to IB no problem. So thank you for suggesting the problem might be a version issue.

I've been playing around with it a bit and I have to say that so far I am very impressed. It compares quite favorably to eSignal.
