There are several different issues here. We have added a check for an empty symbol. We are not sure why the symbol in the Input settings for the study did not get saved and read but we are not able to reproduce the problem. It is possible there was a problem in 1791 but our testing shows that this is not an issue currently. We are releasing 1792 in about 10 minutes.
