Working in the same time-frame, the best method I have found is to go to the Tools menu and check Auto Snap on Creation, then draw the line from the first point to the second point (not through the second point), then right click on the line, click chart drawing properties, and check the box to extend the line. In this manner the line will stay anchored to the first two points and will shift only minimally in the future as the scale changes. If you draw through the second point to another bar or some point in the future, the line will shift more.

If you don't want to have to check the extension box every time you could also use the ray tool, but I personally don't care for the lines extending to the left, since this creates confusion when stepping through historical charts. It would be nice if the config for the line and ray tools included left and right extension boxes. Currently you can only set the mark.
