Post From: Construction of Three Line Break Charts

I want to try three-line break (TLB) charts, and to fully understand them, I read various websites.

Then I practiced using Sierra Chart by looking at the candlestick bars before I looked at your TLB charts. Historical chart areas (previous days, weeks, etc.) appeared to be accurate, but the TLB patterns for the most recent data of many charts has me puzzled.

I assumed that I did not understand the construction of TLB charts, but I compared Sierra Chart to Stockcharts.com. For all charts that I could not determine how Sierra Chart drew the TLB chart, I checked Stockcharts. Their charts were drawn as I understand TLB charts.

An example is symbol DIA for March 1, 2018. I’ve screen shots, and Sierra Chart has a green line (bar) on the far right which I don't understand, but Stockcharts does not have a white (up) bar on the far right.

I’ve tried every setting that I could find that I thought might “fix” the issue. I’m using the default settings for the TLB “study” plus Graph Draw Type of “Candlestick Body Only”. I’ve looked at daily and weekly charts of ETFs and CEFs plus weekly charts of mutual funds. I’m seeing the same results in all of these products.

Am I missing something or is there a problem with SierraChart? Why are TLB charts a "study" and not a chart type?
