What you are describing is that you are looking at the wrong Trade Window. Each chart has its own Trade Window and you are using a Trade Window which belongs to another chart. Go to the chart or Trade DOM and select Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart. When you are using the correct Trade Window, you will not have the issues you describe.
