There should most definitely never be a problem with this as long as each instance of the Spreadsheet Study is using a different Sheet within the Spreadsheet.
The OP was using the same sheet in each same-named spreadsheet study. This is the default setting, since they were all on the same chart. Using different sheets would have solved the problem, but he solved it by combining everything into a single spreadsheet study.
