I've attempted to shorten the autosave interval to 2 minutes, but anything less than 15 minutes does not take. After setting it to 2 minutes when I reopen the settings window it is set for 15 minutes. I can make it greater than 15 minutes with no problem (20 minutes saves), but entering anything less than 15 minutes ends up with a setting equal to 15 minutes.

I turned autosave off and have now gone a couple of weeks without a crash of any kind. Previously SC was crashing a couple of times a week. It appears that, as you suspected, the problem was related. We think we know why this problem was happening. If it is what we suspect it will be resolved in version 1623. There are other potential problems, that we have considered and those will be resolved in the coming weeks. All of this relates to memory allocation failures which were not being handled.
