Yes I understand this. The only element that might restrict us would be AllowMultipleEntriesInSameDirection as we sometimes have multiple entries in a certain timeframe, although we could exclude these secondary entries using a formula weve created within our spreadsheet and void all TRUE entries within a specific timeframe. Im assuming all functions of automated trading management would also be voided, such as CancelAllOrdersOnEntriesAndReversals? As we sometimes have trades that run together and they would then need to be reversed. Just to clarify, we put forward a strategy that if AAPL is trading at 121.40 and we have a buy entry signal we would then purchase a 121 strike call contract or 121 strike put contract if a sell signal is produced. |

Im suprised you have no users request the use of options within SC before.

Guys just a quick note, I realize there has been some functionality issues with the integration of tradable option contracts into symbol/quote recognition. I obviously think highly of Sierra Chart as I continue to engage and be patient. Furthermore, I would like to move forward and add in that I would be more than willing to compensate for the extra time spent on this or contract out the work to a third party provider. Let me know your thoughts as I would like to get this ongoing issue resolved. Thanks again |

We need to know specifically what this is so we can help you with it. Please describe the specific problem. However, with what you want to do, you are going to need to use ACSIL for overall reliability. We do not think spreadsheets have the capability to handle this reliably. Im assuming all functions of automated trading management would also be voided, such as CancelAllOrdersOnEntriesAndReversals?
Yes this is the case.

The problem has been described numerous times and was told functionality to support trading a different symbol would be out on 3 different occasions. Below are your responses. Look I want to get this solved and be a user of SC for many years to come as I was a NinjaTrader user for the prior 7 years. Please inform me the direction I should take as I thought this issue would be more than resolved by now. (10-16) Also sometime in the next two weeks we will be adding new functions to ACSIL to support trading a symbol different than the symbol of the chart. This may help with what you want to do. (10-26) No, not yet. This capability should be out next week. (11-2) Not yet. We still need a few more days. It is more involved than expected. And documentation will take longer. Again the use of options in my trading is one component of my strategy but also a key element. Within any intraday environment I would be inclined to Buy/Sell option contracts across many strikes and/or directionally to utlize a set of parameters pre-defined but always adapting. This conversation started on the 7th of October. |

OK we thought you were referring to accessing pricing data for an options contract and some associated problem with that. That should work fine but there are some special considerations to do that and using ACSIL would be best. We did not think this was about trading a symbol different than the symbol of the chart. We are actively working on this. And we expect it should be finished up by Monday but it requires testing and code review and documentation. And also for it to be tested in a controlled environment we also have to develop the capability for it to be used in Trade Simulation Mode and that is a more effort which would take another week. We cannot move along any faster. We appreciate your interest in this, but it does not help to keep asking about it. We can only move so fast with it. It probably would be at least another week before it is practical to use. This is just how it is working out which is not unusual with software development. Thx, testing in trade simulation mode is of no concern as I can use IB's paper trading environment for now. I understand you have many other initiatives and will look for the changes come Monday. Thz again, have a good weekend. |

The programming is complete and we are going to be testing it later today. And we will try to have documentation done today as well but it might not be ready until tomorrow. The version which supports this has been released. And here is a very brief outline of the documentation: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html#SubmittingOrdersDifferentSymbolAccount The latest version also has the source code example. All of this is very new and has to be tested. Do not make any further postings in this thread about this functionality and start a new thread.
