amp futures / interactive brokers

i have accounts with both of the above, and I use amp mainly for futures on my main Sierra charts. if i want to keep that going and add interactive brokers, so i can trade forex too, can i just start a new instance and set up ibkr on that or do i need a completley new installation of sierra to enable that?

You need a separate installation. A "Sub-Instance" started by selecting "File >> New Instance" connects to the main instance and therefore is connected to whatever account the main instance is connected to.
